Modder's Guide to: Skins in ToothandCake

This is a quick step by step of what you need to know to make skins compatible with the ToothAndCake mod:

Already have a skin? skip to Step 3!
1) Pick something you want to skin
2) make replacement textures for any number of files associated with your choice in the Reference Sheet
3) Pick an id (name) for your skin, This should confirm to the following rules:

  • id may not contain underscores
  • id must not end in a unit name
4)For each of the files you made textures for, name your replacement [originalname]_[id], eg if you made a squirrel skin and chose the id TRex, squirrel.png would become squirrel_TRex.png, squirrel_tint squirrel_tint_TRex etc.

5) If you did not make a replacement for the file listed as base (bold) in the Reference Sheet, make a copy of the unmodified base file and change the name according to your chosen id.

6) Your skin is now compatible with ToothAndCake! Put all your files into their respective folders and you'll be able to use them the next time you play!
